Mobile Workshops

We partner with a variety of facilities to offer writing and storytelling workshops.  We focus on underserved populations, most in the East End of Richmond.

Weekly Workshops at the Richmond City Justice Center

Since June 2017, RSH has provided weekly writing and storytelling workshops on both the men's and women's floor of the RCJC.  Sessions run for 8 weeks, with a final storytelling performance during our last session, where participants share their finished stories with other residents and staff.

Workshops at Unit 13 Women's Prison

The RSH began its partnership with the Department of Corrections in 2019 and facilitates workshops at Unit 13 Women's Correctional Facility on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Elderly/Aging Services

We offer writing workshops at elderly and aging facilities and recorded/edited one-on-one audio interviews.

See below for a description and example of these services.
